Christmas Day

I got up quite late on Christmas Day, and expectedly, because of going to bed at 2am the night before. 10.13am the clock read. Everyone said to me that everyone was up already and ready for presents. I got myself ready for the lounge room sit-in. Opened the presents that we gave to each.

In terms of my expectation of presents, which are meant to be a surprise, are fairly good and expected. I got 2 PC games: Call of Duty World at War (which still doesn’t work on my PC due to my PC unable to meet minimum systems requirements, but I’ll figure out a way..) and Crysis (again, not meeting systems requirement). This calls for a PC upgrade (or tweaking of system settings, which I’ll devote my time for another day).

I also got DIY Financial Planning by Barbara Smith and Dr Ed Koken (ISBN 9780731407583), which is very useful to read about. I am very disciplined (most of the time!) when it comes to financial planning. This will come in handy.

400g NET Cadbury Old Gold dark chocolate. Enough to last me for a few days, and 235g NET Lindt Lindor irresistibly smooth assorted chocolate.

I also hinted that I needed to see the time, and so I received a Guinness Time clock. The colours are black background, white foreground, gold hands and a black frame.

When I return back to work, I’ll be using a new cup, which is the aluminum travel mug, which is non-spillage. Should come in handy with the adventures of spillage I’ve had in the past years and a few “Oops” moments from some colleagues who witnessed it!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows should last me several days to use up.

We had Christmas lunch, which is meat and salad. Meat is chicken, silverside, turkey and ham. Salads are potato salad, caesar salad, both yummy, and some other salad, which I do not like particularly (the one with carrots and salad dressing!)

We also had fun on the air hockey I gave to my brother. The air powered up by an electrical cord is quite mild considerably, and I wished there’s more air to make the game more enjoyable but we played it regardless. My dad is quite good at this game, but it may be because I let him win or that he played aggressively.

I had a nap for 1.5 hours from 4.30 – 6pm. Was too tired. Had some leftovers at 10pm.

I recall earlier in the day about a discussion we had over lunch about whether the The Curious Case of Benjamin Button was a true story. How can one born as an old man and gets younger? Impossible! Doing some fact checking revealed that it is not based on a true story. It was adopted from the short story published in 1921 by F. Scott Fitzgerald.
